This section is a part of the chapter: An Approach for the Hematologic Challenges of Helicobacter pylori in Children: An Expensive Cost of Parents’ Misbehavior towards their Kids

Although the eradication regimens efficiently eradicate H. pylori; the emergence of antibiotic-resistant H. pylori strains, the severe side effects, the high costs, treatment failure and high chances of recurrence are major drawbacks of these treatments. More efficient, economical and friendly drugs need to be developed, especially for children and in particular those with hematologic challenges. Amazingly; H. pylori may not be just a bad bug in all instances, as complete eradication of the organism might introduce new problems due to the low gastric acidity. H. pylori has been shown to be a protective agent against low pH level-related carcinomas involving the cardia of the stomach; that is a greatly confusing challenge.
