In this post, we present a brief overview of our recently published book chapter titled “The Effects of Humane Entrepreneurship on Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises’ Performance”

SMMEs encounter numerous challenges that contribute to their high failure rate. In South Africa, many businesses collapse within the first seven years of operation, highlighting the vulnerability of the sector. A major obstacle to achieving sustainable business performance is the need to shift traditional business mindsets toward innovative sustainability practices, new technologies, and alternative business models. In addition, the pursuit of quality job creation remains a persistent challenge for many enterprises.

Against this background, the present study sought to assess the effects of humane entrepreneurship (HumEnt) on the performance of SMMEs.
